Our Purpose
The Mission
"We believe Black history is not a niche — it is the story of human resistance, genius, and survival."
Black Whole Comics was founded to fill a gap in the market and in the culture. Our comics aren't entertainment dressed in history — they're scholarship made visceral. Every page is rooted in primary sources, Afrocentric research, and the documented lives of those who fought, built, and refused to be erased.
Founded through the Academy of Afrocentric Scholarship, Black Whole brings together historians, illustrators, and educators to produce work that belongs in classrooms, collections, and communities.
Featured in the Comics
The Heroes

Black Whole Productions
The Gary Gobbler book series will empower children by showing them that big, systemic problems can be broken down and solved using a structured process and fundamental tools (math).
From the same mission — a different voice. Black Whole Productions brings literacy to life for K through 5 readers through whimsical stories, animal allegories, and mystery adventures that teach while they delight.
In His Own Words
