About Black Whole
Black Whole Comics: Our Heroes are Real! — bringing Black history to life through visually powerful, educational storytelling rooted in Afrocentric scholarship.
Who We Are
Our Story
"We believe Black history is not a niche — it is the story of human resistance, genius, and survival."
Black Whole Comics was founded to fill a gap in the market and in the culture. Our comics aren't entertainment dressed in history — they're scholarship made visceral. Every page is rooted in primary sources, Afrocentric research, and the documented lives of those who fought, built, and refused to be erased.
Founded through the Academy of Afrocentric Scholarship, Black Whole brings together historians, illustrators, and educators to produce work that belongs in classrooms, collections, and communities.
